Div., WIARNG, in ‘66 and reached the rank of S. Sgt. before being appointed as warrant officer in ’73; graduated Wisconsin Military Academy and commissioned 2d Lt., armor, in ’78; held a variety of command and staff assignments in HHC, 32^D Inf. Bde.; 1^ST Bn., 632^D AR; 1^ST Bn., 121^ST FA; 13^TH Evac. Hosp. and 64^TH Troop Command; served as Director of Personnel and Administration, Director of Human Resources, Director of Logistics and Chief of Staff at State Headquarters; deployed to Kuwait in Jul. ‘05 as Cdr. of 32^D Sep. Inf. Bde. (Light) and Dep. Cdr. of 377^TH Theater Support Command in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; this was the 32^D Bde.’s first deployment into a combat theater since WWII; although the 32^D Bde. did not mobilize as a whole, all units deployed in support of OIF or OEF between Jun. ‘04 and Feb. ’07; commanded the WIARNG from Nov. ‘06 until his retirement in Feb. ’08; awards include Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star Medal and three Meritorious Service Medals.
